Recipe for golden milk
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon fresh turmeric or ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- 250 ml milk of your choice (cow's or plant-based)
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter (ghee)
- Honey for sweetening (optional)
directions:
- Heat the milk over low heat.
- If you are using fresh turmeric, mix it in a little water first, then add it to the milk.
- Add the cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Let it simmer briefly (be careful not to let the milk boil).
- Stir in the coconut oil or ghee.
Once cooled, season with honey if you want a sweeter version.
When to drink golden milk?
It is most often recommended at night before bed - it helps relax and regenerate the body. You can also drink it in the morning as needed, but not more than once a day.
Start with smaller doses to see how your body reacts.
Things to watch out for
- Turmeric can be irritating to sensitive stomachs – start with caution.
- Use only high-quality, unfiltered turmeric.
- If you have a chronic condition, allergies or are taking medication, consult your doctor before using golden milk.
- Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
