Recipe for golden milk

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon fresh turmeric or ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 250 ml milk of your choice (cow's or plant-based)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter (ghee)
  • Honey for sweetening (optional)

directions:

  1. Heat the milk over low heat.
  2. If you are using fresh turmeric, mix it in a little water first, then add it to the milk.
  3. Add the cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Let it simmer briefly (be careful not to let the milk boil).
  4. Stir in the coconut oil or ghee.

Once cooled, season with honey if you want a sweeter version.


When to drink golden milk?

It is most often recommended at night before bed - it helps relax and regenerate the body. You can also drink it in the morning as needed, but not more than once a day.

Start with smaller doses to see how your body reacts.


Things to watch out for

  • Turmeric can be irritating to sensitive stomachs – start with caution.
  • Use only high-quality, unfiltered turmeric.
  • If you have a chronic condition, allergies or are taking medication, consult your doctor before using golden milk.
