Priessnitz (wet steam) wrap:
- relieves common sore throat and scratchy throat
- helps with dry cough or sore throat
- helps with loss of voice and hoarseness
- helps with laryngitis
Instructions for using the Priessnitz wrap:
Soak the inner removable cotton part of the wrap in cold water (for children, we choose less cold water).
Place the well-wrung cotton part in the wrap. Place it on the body and secure with Velcro so that the wrap adheres to the body as best as possible and its effect can be as great as possible. Leave the wrap on for ten to twenty minutes, then remove it. A break is necessary after application. Repeat until the symptoms subside.
Do not leave the Priessnitz wrap on overnight!! The wrap should also not be applied to infected areas, poorly healing wounds, skin diseases such as eczema, and so on. In the case of applying the wrap to small children, it is better to first consult a doctor.
The dry - warm wrap can be used as a wrap alone, but to increase the heat effect, you can heat the inner cotton part, for example, by ironing. Our recommendation is to use heating pads, which you can conveniently heat in the microwave - specifically cherry stones. Buckwheat heating pads heat on their own - you can find precise instructions in the heating pads category.
Since our belts are multipurpose, i.e. they can be used not only as a Priessnitz compress, but also as a dry warm wrap, you will also find heating pads with us. The pads are filled with natural materials in organic quality, namely buckwheat husks or cherry stones.
